Mining budgeting

MINING FUEL COST CALCULATOR

Diesel is usually 25–40 % of a small mine's opex. This tool calculates burn per machine using industry-standard L/h rates and your monthly running hours.

Suggested burn rates

Excavator 30 t: 22 L/h. ADT 40 t: 28 L/h. FEL 5 m³: 18 L/h. Dozer D7: 28 L/h. Drill rig: 22 L/h. Generator 250 kVA: 55 L/h. Light vehicle: 0.15 L/km.

Each machine, its own line

MetalPulse shows diesel per machine — not a single 'fuel' lump — so you can spot the one machine that's eating the budget.

Worked example

Excavator 22 L/h × 200 h × $1.40 = $6,160/m. ADT (×2) 28 L/h × 250 h × $1.40 × 2 = $19,600/m. Total fleet ~ $35–50k/m for a small open pit.
