Operator wages aren't just hourly rate × hours. South African and Namibian labour law require 1.5× for weekday overtime and Saturdays, and 2× for Sundays and public holidays.
Overtime multipliers
Normal weekday hours 0–8: 1.0×. Weekday hours >8 and Saturdays: 1.5×. Sundays and public holidays: 2.0×. The tool computes weighted hours so totals stay accurate.
Operator crewing
For every machine in your fleet, tick 'included in machine cost' (rental contracts) or 'employed' (hourly rate × weighted hours × crew size).
Worked example
Operator at R150/h, 200 normal hours + 40 weekday OT + 20 Saturday + 10 Sunday → weighted hours = 200 + 60 + 30 + 20 = 310 → R46,500/month.
