Quoted as USD per dry tonne CFR China (62 % Fe basis), sourced from Platts IODEX 62 % Fe CFR Qingdao. Local-currency conversion uses the central bank mid-rate at calculation time. We classify each row as live, delayed, proxy or forecast.

Ore grades and concentrate basis

Typical ranges: DSO 58–65 % Fe; concentrate 65–70 %. Always specify dry metric tonne (DMT) basis when negotiating — moisture deduction is separate.

Payable % and buyer deductions

DSO priced per dmt, grade-adjusted. Common deductions: freight, SiO2/Al2O3/P penalties, moisture.

Export from Africa

Most African producers export via Walvis Bay (Namibia), Durban (South Africa), Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) or Beira (Mozambique). Pricing is USD-denominated and converted to local currency at sale.
