ORE VALUE CALCULATOR (ALL METALS)

Pick the metal, enter grade and tonnage, and get a gross USD value at the current reference price. Works for sulphide ore, oxide ore and concentrate.

Universal formula

value_usd = tonnes × grade_fraction × recovery × payable × price_usd_per_tonne. Grades in g/t are converted to fractions using metal-specific factors (1 g/t = 1e-6 for base metals; troy-oz conversion for precious).

Supported metals

Copper, gold, silver, zinc, lead, nickel, lithium (LCE), manganese, cobalt, uranium (U3O8), tin and iron ore (62 % Fe CFR China).

Worked example

500 t × 1.8 % Zn × 0.85 recovery × 0.85 payable × $2,800/t = $18,207

Key assumptions

  • Reference price source shown per metal
  • Recovery and payable are buyer-specific
