TIN PRICE — AFRICA

Reference price, ore grades, payable % and export notes for tin producers and traders in Africa. MetalPulse never shows a bare price — every figure carries source, units, market type and timestamp.

Reference price and source

Quoted as USD per tonne (LME), sourced from LME Sn cash settlement. Local-currency conversion uses the central bank mid-rate at calculation time. We classify each row as live, delayed, proxy or forecast.

Ore grades and concentrate basis

Typical ranges: concentrate 60–75 % Sn. Always specify dry metric tonne (DMT) basis when negotiating — moisture deduction is separate.

Payable % and buyer deductions

92–95 %. Common deductions: TC $1,200–1,800/t, Bi/Pb/W penalties.

Export from Africa

Most African producers export via Walvis Bay (Namibia), Durban (South Africa), Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) or Beira (Mozambique). Pricing is USD-denominated and converted to local currency at sale.
