Two buyers can quote 96 % payable; one charges $90 TC, the other includes freight. The net to your bank account can differ by $50–$100 per tonne.
What to compare
Payable %, deductible, TC, RC, penalties, freight basis (FOB/CIF), payment terms (sight LC, 30/60 day), assay arbitration clause, currency.
Worked example
Buyer A: 96 % payable, $80 TC, FOB → $2,180/t. Buyer B: 95 % payable, $60 TC, CIF (incl $40 freight) → $2,250/t. Buyer B wins by $70/t even at lower payable.
