Cost components
Per-tonne transport cost = (distance_km × rate_usd_per_t_km) + loading + offloading + border_fees + escort + insurance. African long-haul road rates run $0.06–0.12 / t-km depending on fuel and route.

Solwezi → Dar es Salaam ~2,000 km, ~$140/t; Lubumbashi → Durban ~3,000 km, ~$220/t; Tsumeb → Walvis Bay ~430 km, ~$45/t.
Worked example
1,200 km × $0.09/t-km × 32 t truck → $108/t, plus $8/t loading and $5/t border fees → $121/t
